First Sergeant (Retired) Cedric Brown is currently the Senior Army Instructor (SAI) of Austin High School Junior Reserve Officer Program. He is native of Valdosta Georgia, and enlisted in the United States Army in April 1985. He has a Master in Business Administration from Webster University and a Bachelor's in Business Management from Park University.
First Sergeant Brown has served in many enlisted leadership position in Air Defense Artillery (ADA) Battalions throughout the Army.
Some of his assignments include 5th Battalions (BN), 62nd ADA, 5th BN, 44th ADA, at Pittsburg Air Force Base, Germany; 4th BN, 5th ADA, 1st Cavalry Division in Saudi Arabia, as a Track Commander during Operation Desert Storm; After Operation Desert Storm , 2nd BN, 3rd ADA, Fort Riley, Kansas: 4th BN, 3rd ADA, Kitzingen, Germany.
After graduating in the top 20% of his class in the USA Drill Sergeant School at Fort Jackson, SC, First Sergeant Brown was assigned to Bravo Battery, 1st BN, 56th ADA, as a Drill Sergeant and selected as Fort Bliss Drill Sergeant of the year
First Sergeant Military education includes: First Sergeant Course, Advance Non Commissioned Officer Course, and Primary Leadership Development Course.
His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Metal, Meritorious Service Medal (3rd award), Army Commendation Medal (9th Award), Army Achievement Medal (8th Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Medal with 2 Bronze Service Star, Noncommissioned Officer's Professional Development Ribbon with number 3, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd Award), Kuwait Liberation Medal, Driver and Mechanic Badge with Mechanic Bar and Drill Sergeant Identification Badge.
He resides in El Paso Texas, and is married to the former Frankie L. McEady. They have two beautiful kids; Courtney and Shauntala and grandson; Xavier.
